This is a great book for anyone in the social work field, those advocating against child abuse & those who have been abused. The event happened in London, but applies anywhere where children are forgotten, lost & horribly abused.
I just started the book and was about 10-12 pages in and thought I had accidently jumped ahead on the pages as it said I was 86% through. Im not sure who rated this book 2 & 3 stars but It does not even explain part of the story nor does it even have an ending. The end of this so called book should of been the beginning of the story. It was like I was reading the prologue. I also agree w whoever said this story seemed made up. It sounds like a short story for a kids book. I am super disappointed but I also learned to actually read the reviews and not choose something because of ratings.
I was surprised how short this story was. I'm sorry for the anguish she experienced. It's tragic that there are heartless people like her stepdad who made her suffer all the those years. I wish she had put more effort into her story and included more details about where she went once she escaped, who helped her, if he was arrested, what country they lived in, if anyone else knew that a child lived in that apartment, why she had never heard anyone else in the apartment, and so on.
22 pages... Just an short article. Should be placed in a magazine or newspaper. I didn't see it was only 22 pages, but will check next time.Waste of money.
I found this more than disappointing...it isn't written in the way a child would talk or think. The book isn't even a complete story...22 pages long.
As I empathize with any child who has to endure the ugliness of an adult abuser, I was shocked that this book is nothing more than about 10 pages long. To make this a book, the writer should have touched more on her earlier life with her mother. I was confused by the random poem that appeared.
Good to understand that who ever what ever there are evil people around tha t his behind religions and other stuff law and doctors and behind doors people suffer it was great for her to speak out hope these days she is happy
I WAS SUPER DISAPPOINTED IN THIS "STORY" IT CLAIMS TO BE TRUE, BUT THERE IS NOTHING IN IT. ITS LIKE READING A SHORT INCOMPLETE WRITING ASSIGNMENT FOR A CREATIVE WRITING CLASS. AND IT TOOK ME LIKE 15 MINUTES TO READ FROM BEGINNING TO END. I WOULD NOT HAVE WASTED MY MONEY HAD I KNOWN.
It's a good book but it ended to soon. I want to know the rest of the story and see him get what he deserves
